New Addition to Evening Activities

We have been working on improving our evening activities for a little while. Steve the drummer is an established hit, as is Laura the dancer! Last year we were able to book regular sessions with Mike Dixon former Olympic biathlete to give his motivational talks. All of these sessions have proved very popular. This years addition is craft evenings with a local company (crafty hedgehog). We look forward to continuing to broaden the range and scope of our evening activities.

New Fleet of Sailing Boats

Recent visitors over the summer have had the pleasure of launching our new fleet of sailing boats. We have 2 laser stratos, 4 "picos" and 5 "optimists" which gives us boats to suit all needs. In additionto these we have the use of a couiple of challenger boats ideally suited for working with people with disabilities.

Inclusion - Fun for Everybody!

A new addition to our bike fleet at Lagganlia are a selection of bikes suitable for use by people with disabilities. This allows us to produce genuinely inclusive programmes to allow students of all abilities to join in bike trips together. We now also have a ski bob designed for use with students with disabilities and also access to a couple of "Challenger" sailing dinghys based at Loch Morlich. The newly unpgraded Hillend Lodge will have facilities for vistitors with disabilities..

Main centre refurbishment

The main centre refurbishment is now complete. All our facilities are open for business and you can book for 2007 now. We are delighted with what is effectively a “new centre” with up to date facilities and an imaginative reorganisation of the available space. Access to the centre has been ramped and there is a wheelchair lift inside to cope with the changes in level in the ground floor.

Hillend Lodge rebuild

The Hillend lodge rebuild has been complete for sometime, but taken together with the work on the main centre this gives us an excellent range of facilities suitable for all types of client. Hillend has been built to be suitable for wheelchair access with toilets and showers suitable for those with mobility problems.

Discount

We are delighted that we are able to continue to offer 10% discounts to Children and Families Department clients who book a fully serviced course. There is an additional 5% discount to School Edinburgh Council schools.

Rock Climbing

We were delighted recently to come across a new climbing crag in the forest close to our existing abseil crag. We are confident that this new crag will prove a boon to beginning rock climbers and increase the popularity of this activity over the coming season.
