Water Adventures...Journeys with a difference!

River Journeys
Are you looking for a unique experience that provides personal challenge in a stunning setting? If you want a slow and relaxing voyage absorbing views and watching wildlife then we have lochs and lazy-moving rivers in abundance. If you want to embark on a full throttle, adrenaline pumping white water ride, tackling rapids and working hard to become a proficient paddler capable of looking after others then we can offer plentiful opportunities for you too.

You can travel by kayak, open canoe or raft for either single or multi-day expeditions, the choice is yours. Overnights can either be spent at Lagganlia or on the river bank in one of the many remote and charming camp spots you will pass. Please note that your options may be dependent on rainfall and water levels in the area you wish to visit. If you wish to gain British Canoe Union coaching awards, skills certificates etc we can provide training and assessment for you.

Sailing
Picture this: You are skippering your own boat on idyllic Loch Morlich with the Cairngorm Mountains towering above you. You experience a mixture of calm and tranquillity followed by bursts of wind spiralling down from the mountains, your adrenalin is racing, to decide to pull the sail in tight and speed down the length of the loch!

At Lagganlia we can take sailing any ability and age group and we have a variety of boats available for you: Optimist dinghies for smaller children, Laser Picos for two children or one adult and Laser Stratos that can take up to 4 people including an instructor.

Mountain Biking
The Cairngorms National Park is ideal for either the beginner or fanatical mountain biker. The dramatic landscape surrounding Lagganlia has a rich assortment of trails from mellow forest tracks to exhilarating downhill trails. Mountain biking is an all weather sport; fun in the sun and invigorating in mud-splattered rain. Choose a basic guided excursion, hire one of our instructors to help you improve your biking skills or let us put together a custom package to meet your aspirations and ... get on your bike!

Hill Walking
Want to experience the exhilaration of summiting a mountain? New to hill walking and wish to develop your mountain skills? Bagged a few but would like us to work alongside you?
At Lagganlia both the Cairngorms and the Monaliadh Mountain Ranges are on your doorstep so you can get acquainted with the highest of Scotland's mountains (only Ben Nevis in nearby Lochabar is higher at 1344m) . There are also exquisite forest walks or the spectacular long distance Rothiemurchus to Braemar walk via the Lairig Ghru (with it's resident Yeti - the 'Old Grey Man' ).

Rock Climbing and Abseiling
Develop a passion for climbing with us... There are a huge variety of climbs near Lagganlia. For those new to the sport, there are friendly crags like Kingussie crag and Huntly's cave (described as having 'cracking routes and a stunning finish'). If you are experienced and after more of a challenge, the Cairngorms offer a great variety of easily accessible multi-pitch climbs. Need a refresher? We have a small indoor wall and there is an excellent, challenging indoor wall at Aviemore to get you ready for that first outdoor pitch! Why not explore climbs and abseils further afield with us - Ben Nevis is just over an hour's drive away.
