Alpine Ski Leader Training and Assessment
16th to 23rd Mar 2007
£455 plus lift tickets (around £80) and SNSC registration fees
The Alpine Ski Leader award administered by the Scottish National Ski Council
is the minimum qualification for leaders wishing to be in sole charge of a
downhill ski group.
A prerequisite for the course is to be at the standard of the Level 7
Snowsports award.
Candidates must hold a valid emergency first aid certificate and be a member of
the SNSC for the award to be valid.
The course covers personal skiing, and the teaching of skiing progressions,
group leadership and safety. Assessment is continuous throughout the course.
Snowboard Leader Training and Assessment
11th to 16th Feb 2005
£380 plus lift tickets (around £80) and SNSC registration fees
The Snowboard Leader award administered by the Scottish National Ski Council is
the minimum qualification for leaders in charge of a snowboarding group.
Candidates will need a valid emergency first aid certificate and be a member of
the SNSC and be at the standard of the level 7 Snowsports Award in
Snowboarding.
The course covers personal snowboarding and the teaching of progressions, group
leadership and safety. Assessment is continuous throughout the course.
Nordic Ski Leader Training and Assessment
By arrangement
The Nordic Ski Leader Award administered by the Scottish National Ski Council
is the minimum award for leaders in charge of Nordic ski groups.
Candidates will need a valid emergency first aid certificate and be members of
the SNSC for the award to be valid. The course covers personal skiing and the
teaching of progressions, group leadership and safety. Assessment is continuous
throughout the course.
Alpine Ski Leader Revalidation
5th March 2005
£TBC plus lift tickets and SNSC registration fees
The award remains valid for three years only. This is a practical course to
revalidate the Alpine Ski Leader.
